Science Policy Advocacy

I’m passionate about advocating for public policy that aims to mitigate climate change, fight for social and environmental justice, advance geoscience research, and increase equity and inclusion in STEM. I was a 2020 American Geophysical Union Voices for Science advocate focused on science policy advocacy. As an advocate, I organized and participated in meetings with congressional offices about STEM equity, geoscience funding, and environmental justice legislation. I also organized and participated in presidential and gubernatorial candidate town halls focused on climate and environmental policy.

Peat ECR Action Team

In 2020 I helped found the Peatland ECR Action Team (PEAT). PEAT aims to connect and empower the next generation of peatland researchers through providing opportunities for networking, skill sharing, and collaboration. Check out peatecr.com for more info!

UNH Women in Science

I was a coordinator of UNH Women in Science (WIS) from 2017-2021. WIS aims to provide opportunities for community building and professional development for undergraduate and graduate women in STEM. As a coordinator I organized events on preventing and reporting gender and sexual harassment in STEM, career paths and career preparation, mental health resources, and more.
